Regarding UC Davis Pepper Spray Incident
This is my letter to the UC President and UC Regents. I encourage all students and alumni to respond to the recent protest at UC Davis.

To President Yudof and the Regents of University of California,
I am appalled at the recent actions of the Davis campus police during the peaceful protests on the UC Davis campus. Regardless of my feelings on the Occupy movement, the actions taken by the campus police go beyond what should be tolerated.
I am an alumni of UC Davis and now enjoy the benefits of being a UC graduate by being well-educated and well-employed. As such, I’ve regularly donated to the Alumni funds to support my Alma Mater despite the recent negativity I’ve felt about the UC system. I didn’t agree with the excessive tuition hikes, and I didn’t agree with the hiring of Chancellor Katehi, whose starting salary was not warranted based on her experience. In light of the recent actions during this “pepper spray” incident, my assumptions have only been confirmed.
I demand Chancellor Katehi step down, as she has proven to be an ineffective leader for what should’ve been a stellar public institution. I also expect the UC Regents to seek the full extent of punishment for these police officers who’ve abused their power. I no longer plan to donate to the UC Davis Alumni Association, since it clear the university is misappropriating funds if they continue to support Katehi. I also do not intend to send my future children to any UC schools, as out-of-state education (and even local private education) and value-based cost is superior to the overcrowded lecture halls of the UC system.
I hope my words don’t fall on deaf ears. But if so, it only reaffirms my assessment of the state of the UC system. I am no longer proud to call myself a UC Davis alumni.
From,
A Disappointed Alumni
